Backlinks are unusually volatile business to handle. We need backlinks to get a high PR. We also need them to get traffic from various blogs. However, these backlinks, linked to a blog having illegal or copied or some content which violates some agreements such as adsense terms and agreement can cost you dearly. Your PR can get low and even you may get attacked by a vicious Penguin or Panda attack. In this post, we will learn how to nofollow external backlinks.
Even though its very easy to add links and even make nofollow links, at times, we need to make some links nofollow links regularly. This happens when the link connects to another blog which violates certain laws or agreements. This makes us to make the link a nofollow. The connected blog may contain some content which may also harm your rankings and cost you many things. Due to which, some of the links must be made nofollow.

In order to do this, there are many plug-ins for this purpose. Some of them makes all of the links nofollow links. Making all of the links nofollow is a bad idea as you need to keep some of your links as dofollow links. After setting up those plugins and making all external links nofollow, you cannot make dofollow links as the plugin will be overriding the settings. But, some plug-ins allows you to manage exceptions i.e allow you to block certain links while keeping other intact. If you choose these plugins, they will allow you to make dofollow links and the links you enter will be made nofollow.

For this, you need to download the Follow Nofollow control Plugin. Upon activation, there will be a new menu added under the settings tab called Follow-Nofollow. There, you can enter links you want to make nofollow.

The plugin is very easy to use and understand. As you can seein the above image, you can make certain external links as nofollow links. Furthermore, it allows you to make some of your external links as dofollow links. You have the option to nofollow or all external links as seen above.
